What Is a Digital Wallet?

A digital wallet is a secure account that holds money electronically. You add funds from a bank account, card, or cash agent, and then use those funds to pay, transfer, and receive money — all from your phone. No branch visit, no cheque book, no minimum balance in most cases.

Tap "Add Money" and choose your method:

Bank card — instant. Visa and Mastercard accepted in all markets.
Bank transfer — GeraCash's local bank details appear in-app. Transfer from your bank. Funds arrive within 1 business day.
Cash top-up — in supported markets, visit a GeraCash agent or partner location and deposit cash directly to your wallet.
Receive a transfer — if someone else sends you money via GeraCash, it arrives in your wallet automatically.

Security: What Protects Your Money

GeraCash uses bank-grade encryption for all transactions. Your wallet is protected by your password plus a second authentication factor (SMS code or biometric). If your phone is lost or stolen, your wallet can be remotely frozen from any device by logging in to GeraCash on the web.
