GeraCash in India 2026 — Multi-Currency Wallet with UPI Out
Published 21 April 2026 · 8 min read · en-IN
GeraCash lets Indian freelancers, travellers, and importers hold USD, EUR, GBP, and AED alongside INR and spend from any balance at near mid-market FX. Inbound remittance hits your Aadhaar-linked bank, and outbound UPI works exactly as any Indian wallet would.
GeraCash and the Indian regulatory picture
Any cross-border money service in India is governed by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) 1999. Domestic payment initiation runs on NPCI rails (UPI, IMPS, NEFT) and RuPay. Prepaid Payment Instruments (PPI) wallets are licensed by the RBI's Payment and Settlement Systems Act 2007. Cross-border remittance is handled through RBI-authorised AD-I banks and the Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS) for outward flows up to USD 250,000 per financial year. KYC under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act 2002 is mandatory for every account.
